Info for presenters

Posters:

  • Poster boards are 36in by 48in (91cm by 122cm) and can be displayed in landscape or potrait --- Any poster that fits this is fine.
  • Pins will be provided for you to attach your poster to the poster board.
  • Poster sessions A and B will be held at the MIT museum on Friday (Jan 26), 6-7pm and 7-8pm respectively.
    • Poster session A will start at 6pm. At 7pm, the (reversible) poster boards will be flipped dramatically and poster session B will commence.
    • If you're presenting a poster during sessions A or B, please meet outside room 32-141 at 5pm on Friday. Student volunteers will lead you to set up your posters at the museum.
  • Poster session C will be held at the Student Street (outside room 32-141/123) on Saturday (Jan 27).
    • If you're presenting your poster during session C, please set up your poster during any of the breaks before the poster session on Saturday.

Talks:

  • Talks are 20minutes, plus 10minutes for questions
  • You may use handouts or slides.
    • For handouts, please make at least 100 copies
    • For slides, please bring your own laptop. We will provide a USBC-to-HDMI adaptor. Otherwise, please bring your own adaptor for HDMI or VGA.
    • If you'd like your handouts and/or slides to be made available on the NELS website, please send them to nels54@mit.edu no later than January 25, 2024.

Proceedings of NELS 54 will be published by the University of Massachusetts GLSA, as always. The graduate students at GLSA will be in touch separately with instructions on how to submit. Questions about the proceedings should be directed to the GLSA at glsa@linguist.umass.edu.
